Terry Van Rhijn and Carol McKerlie: Baking, Jams, Vinegars. Maple Syrup

One looked up a long laneway past two lovely ponds and saw an assortment of wild ducks and geese
and instantly fall in love with the beauty of the area.

The other walked in an open field edged on one side by bush and the other a meandering stream with wild Iris
growing along the banks and instantly fall in love with the beauty of the area.

We had sold our restaurant  The Decoy Inn located in Bayfield after many years
and now felt we were ready to retire.

One had major renovations to her new home and the other built a home in that open field.
Both planted gardens and enjoyed exploring the area.

But soon we missed the interaction with customers who become friends.

We are now in our 6th season with the market.
We started out selling our raspberries and all raspberry products and so were called  The Raspberry Ladies.
As our gardens grew we added more and more products.

Today we carry jams, vinegars a large assortment of fruit pies for which we grow most of the berries ourselves.
Sometime we have to supplement our supply but insist on local produce as much as possible.
We also make breads, scones and other treats.  We are especially proud of our All Natural Dog Treats
as we enjoy all the dogs that come to visit us.

We are two sisters who enjoy being a part of this market will all the other vendors we consider our friends.
