Rick Morriss: Wooden Home and Garden Items

Born and raised in Toronto and became a Police Officer there in 1964.  In 1976, he and his family decided to move to the country and out of the rat race.  They settled in Proton Township (  Southgate Twp ) where once again he started into policing, but this time in Mount Forest on the 5 man Town Police Force.  The Ontario Provincial Police took over the policing duties in 1990 and he carried on with them for 12 years until he decided to retire after serving the public for 35 years.

Interacting with the public had been his life, so he decided to make wooden crafts and attend shows and continue to meet the public.  If he makes enough money from it to cover his gas and expenses,  he is satisfied.  He attends craft shows from Kincardine to Grand Valley in the Spring and  Fall and the rest of the time he spends at the Flesherton Market where he really enjoys the other venders and the public who attend there on a regular basis.

His crafts consist of Cedar and Painted  Butt Stops, Hanging Birds, Piggy Banks, Bird Houses, Feeders, Walking Sticks, Twig Benches and Chairs.

All products he sells are made from discarded wood and twigs, so he is doing his part to help the environment and save the Planet for future generations.
