Ken and Bernice Stewart: Home grown Fruits , Vegetables, Plants, Trees, Knitting, Relishes, & Baking.
We are charter members of the market. This year hits a milestone for us, as well as the market, as we hit our 20th. season. We have been at the market from the first day it opened in 1991. In fact, we helped get the market started. We sell fresh fruit, vegetables, perennials, trees, and shrubs; we also sell homemade products such as Chili-sauce, pickled beets, relish, chow, salsa, and our own baked goods.
We also sell Hand made knitted items (Ken takes some credit for untangling the wool), but our specialty is APPLES ! Our own LOCAL APPLES !!! You can buy our apples individually, by the basket, or by the bushel. We started pruning trees in the Beaver Valley area, and we now own our own orchard at Lake Eugenia, which includes apple, plum, cherry, and pear trees. We also grow strawberries, raspberries, and gooseberries, as well as black and red currants.
We began with a one horse trailer and an umbrella, and we have expanded from selling our produce as a hobby, to a full time business. We now have a two-horse trailer, a canopy, and a full size truck. (As a sideline, we race standard-bred horses)
We have 6 children, 13 grand-children, and three great-grand-children; but who could tell by looking at us ? People are often amazed as to how much comes out of our trailer, and we have named it “The Magic Trailer”.
We want to thank you for your past business, and God willing, we’ll see you again this season.
Thanks: Ken & Bernice
